Terms of Service
By booking a service or engaging Studio IB in any capacity, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms apply to all service tiers, in-person and virtual sessions, and custom engagements.
1. Booking & Payment
Full payment is required to confirm your booking. Your session is not reserved until payment is received. Any additional costs incurred during a session — including add-on services, stylist reimbursements, or time overages — will be invoiced separately and are due upon completion.
For multi-session packages and custom commercial projects, payment terms will be outlined in a separate project agreement or proposal.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
All bookings are final. Please refer to the Refund & Cancellation Policy below for complete terms, including notice requirements and credit eligibility.
3. Services & Scope
Studio IB provides personalized styling, wardrobe curation, interior styling, and creative direction services tailored to each client’s preferences, lifestyle, and goals. The scope of each engagement is defined at the time of booking or, for larger projects, in a written proposal.
To ensure the best outcome, clients are responsible for providing accurate information prior to their session, including:
Sizing and fit preferences
Style references, goals, and any specific requests
Budget parameters
Relevant constraints (allergies to materials, dress codes, etc.)
Studio IB is not responsible for outcomes that result from incomplete or inaccurate information.
Shopping and sourcing services may require additional fees based on time, travel, or complexity. These will be communicated in advance.
4. Personal Items & Liability
Clients are responsible for their personal belongings during in-person sessions. Studio IB is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
For closet edits, home styling sessions, or any engagement taking place in a client’s home or personal space, clients must disclose any fragile or high-value items in advance.
5. Retail Purchases & Returns
Any items purchased during or in connection with a styling session are subject to the return and exchange policies of the individual retailer. Studio IB has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, store policies or return eligibility.
If additional time is required to facilitate returns or exchanges on a client’s behalf, that time will be billed at the applicable hourly rate.
6. Travel & On-Location Services
Studio IB is based in Los Angeles and works regularly in New York and San Francisco. Travel within these markets is included at standard rates. For clients outside these cities or for destination engagements:
Travel fees will be quoted in advance and are the client’s responsibility
For destination projects, reasonable accommodations and travel expenses must be covered by the client
Travel time may be billed depending on the scope of the engagement
7. Photography & Content
Reference photos may be taken during sessions for internal use. Studio IB will always ask for explicit permission before using any client imagery or likeness for marketing, social media, or portfolio purposes.
8. Confidentiality
All personal information shared during the styling process is treated as confidential and used solely to deliver and improve our services.
Any content created during or in connection with a session will not be used for marketing, portfolio, or any public-facing purpose without the client’s prior written approval.
9. Intellectual Property
All creative work produced by Studio IB remains the intellectual property of Studio IB until full payment has been received. Upon payment, clients receive a personal, non-transferable license to use these materials for their own purposes.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio IB’s liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount paid for that specific service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in Los Angeles County, California.
12. Updates
Studio IB reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Services Are Non-Refundable
All services provided by Studio IB are bespoke and time-intensive. Because work begins at the point of booking — through consultation, research, sourcing, or preparation — all payments are non-refundable once a session or project has been confirmed.
This applies to all service tiers: The Edit, The Strategy, The Curation, The Personal Rebrand, and custom commercial engagements.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel:
More than 24 hours before your scheduled session: your payment may be applied as a credit toward a future booking, valid for 90 days.
Within 24 hours of your scheduled session: the session is forfeited. No credit or refund will be issued.
Same-day cancellations and no-shows are treated the same as within-24-hours cancellations.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule a session at no charge with at least 24 hours’ notice. Rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of a session are subject to availability and may incur a rescheduling fee of $75.
Each booking may be rescheduled once. A second reschedule request will be treated as a cancellation.
Multi-Session and Package Engagements
Sessions completed are non-refundable.
If you wish to discontinue a package after work has begun, you will be charged for the sessions and deliverables completed to date at the applicable session rate. Any remaining balance will be refunded.
If Studio IB cancels or is unable to complete a project, a prorated refund will be issued for work not yet delivered.
Exceptions
Exceptions to this policy are made at our sole discretion in cases of documented medical emergency or other extraordinary circumstances. Please reach out directly to discuss.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ilse Britt (operating as Studio IB) collects when you visit ilsebritt.com, inquire about or book services, or subscribe to our newsletter, The Illist.
We do not sell your personal information. We collect only what we need to provide our services and communicate with you.
Information We Collect
Information You Give Us Directly
When you fill out a contact form, book a session, or subscribe to The Illist, you may provide:
Name and email address
Phone number
Details about your styling goals, preferences, or project brief
Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, standard web technologies may collect IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URL. This is used only to understand how the Site is used and to improve it.
How We Use Your Information
Respond to inquiries and communicate about your project or booking
Schedule and deliver styling services
Process payments through Stripe
Send The Illist newsletter (only if you subscribe)
Improve the Site and understand how visitors use it
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with third-party service providers who help us operate our business: Squarespace, Stripe, Dubsado, ConvertKit, and Notion. Each is contractually required to handle your information securely.
California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale (we do not sell your information). Contact us to exercise these rights. We will respond within 45 days.
Data Retention
Client project files are generally retained for three years following project completion. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe. Contact us to request deletion.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
